VIDEO DVD TOUR OF PEYTON SITES IN ENGLAND-1997
The 1997 trip to visit Peyton sites in England was led by then-president, John Sullivan. A group of 28 Peyton Society of Virginia (PSV) members flew to London in mid-June, to begin a week-long pilgrimage to famous Peyton sites. This video, taped by members Lucia Bailey and Harold Davey, covers all the Peyton sites, except for Wakehurst Place, visited by the group.
The video is about 60 minutes long, and has been edited to remove several breaks in the tape. It is not high quality. It is about what you would expect if you had shot the video in 1997. A typed explanation of the scenes is included.
The sites visited are--Old Hall in Lincoln’s Inn, Cambridge House Hotel, walk around Cambridge, Long Melford, Suffolk, Parish Church, Church of St. Mary the Virgin at Stoke-by-Nayland to view the oldest Peyton tomb, Peyton Hall in Boxford, Holy Communion at St. Andrew’s Church, Isleham, Cambridgeshire, brass tombs of Thomas Peyton (1418-1484) and his two wives, Peyton Chapel, Isleham Hall, Isleham Priory Church (1089), Ely Cathedral, Oliver Cromwell’s home, punting on the Cam River, Kings College, Tardebigge, Cattespoole Manor House, Warwick Hall.
